Yet another Christmas has come and gone at the Gautier/Fletcher household. This year I was fortunate to take the Thursday and Friday before Christmas off from work, for an extra long weekend. However, it still ended up being a rather hectic weekend but altogether an enjoyable Christmas for the whole family. My dad visited on Thursday for dinner and gift exchange as he was going to spend Christmas day with relatives in Oregon. At the last minute I had an interview scheduled at Microsoft, so I drove up to Redmond Friday morning. The interview seemed to go well and I’ll keep everyone posted on it. Saturday, Jenn had been experiencing contractions that were getting more uncomfortable so we thought it best to go to the hospital. We ended up spending about 5 hours in the triage wing at Valley Medical Center. Their diagnosis was that she was exerting herself too much and needed bed rest and lots of water. Thankfully they let us go home, but we were worried for a while that Baby Pip would come way too early (6 – 8 weeks) or that the contractions would not subside and we would have to spend Christmas Eve and Day in the hospital
. Due to these and other unforseen events, I had to go out on Christmas Eve and finish up my shopping. This seems like the case every year, eventhough I often begin my shopping before or right after Thanksgiving. Anyway, thankfully I was able to complete it in just a couple of hours that morning. Jenn and I were also able to finish wrapping everything fairly early in the afternoon so we didn’t have to worry about being up late that night.
Stay tuned for Part 2 to find out how our Christmas went down and see some pictures and video.
Yikes! Scary news about little pip. I’ll be praying that things go smoothly from here on out!
